Thermostat is located at front of motor between ac compressor and alternator.
It is under the housing that the upper radiator hose hooks to on the engine.

On top of the engine attached to the top radiator hose. Two bolts holding it in, take them off and the thermostat is right there.
The best temperature rating for the thermostat on a 1994 Toyota pickup is 190 degrees. This gives a good balance of performance and efficiency.
Follow the upper raditor hose from the raditor to the top of the engine.Where the upper rad hose ends on the engine is where the thermostat is.
