Patriots. They were a group of 300 started by Samuel Adams who organized it and Hancock was the money man. They were basically smugglers to go around the British navigation acts and they were unhappy about the British lowering the cost of tea that made their smuggled Dutch tea higher in price. The Boston Tea Party was organized by Adams and over 2000 people watched on the docks.
