The first one you get is when you go to Zere Rocks, where you will meet a man called Christopher Collapsus. He will give you a quest to bring him a Special Medicine, and he gives you a treasure map as a reward.
You will gain subsequent treasure maps by defeating the bosses at the end of the maps you already have.
Give a special healing herb to Christopher Collapsus (the guy lying on the ground next to Zere Rocks) and he will give you your first grotto map.
By Defeating Grotto bosses you will get more grotto maps.
But watch out, the first grotto boss is pretty tough so make sure you have a party of at least level 35 characters and load yourself with healing herbs.
Most of them are given to you as quest rewards. One quest is at the plateau on the Lonely Coast, in a cave. There is a merchant who sells Chronocrystal in there, and there should be another merchant in there that asks for an ethereal stone. Give him one (they can be found in grottoes, alchemised or occasionally bought on DQVC) and he will give you Malroth's Map.
In similar ways, Baramos, Estark, Nokturnus, Orgodemir, Zoma, Rhapthorne and Mortamor's maps are gained on completion of a quest.
Next, some are given by other Legacy bosses at certain levels, as drop items. They are dropped at around Lv16 - Baramos drops Murdaw's, Murdaw drops Dhoulmagus. Dragonlord drops Psaro, Psaro drops Nimzo.
Lastly, Dragonlord's map is a drop from a regular grotto boss, Greygnarl.
You get your first one from Christopher Collapsus, who you'll find just below the entrance to Zere Rocks. Complete his quest and he'll give you a map - further maps are obtained once you complete a grotto and fight the boss.
well... there are 2 ways I know of getting legacy boss maps 1. Complete the quest "Brian's dyin' wish" which you can except IF you have the starflight express it is in the island at the most northern east point. 2. Except the quest "Fix the Sicklops" what you have to do (this is VERY hard I recomend option 1) is have the skill to steal items from monsters (theif gets the skill) go into a grotto find the monster Atlas he's a cyclopes when he has 600 hp or below use the steal skill and steal something called the "titanic tincture" (im not sure what it's called
The majority of the other Legacy Boss maps are gained by defeating previous ones. Levelling Baramos up will allow you to get Malroth's map, etc.
Defeat Grotto bossed to get other treasure maps...or the king will give you either one or two...

Grotto locations are always randomised, your map will show a different area to another player's Basalt Mine of Joy. Instead you should find an online guide so you can lookup your map's picture to find where it is located.
It could be in any of 11 different locations. Try searching YouTube for Dragon Quest IX treasure map locations.
it is in the lair.go to your map and find it!
The reward for completing quest 158 is the Mortamor map.
Silver Orbs are dropped by a Legacy Boss, Baramos. Complete quest 62 to get his map.
No. However, when you defeat a grotto boss, the quality of the map you get is partly dependent on the highest level you have in any vocation.
There is no treasure map that you can find in Resident Evil 5

A treasure map is a map that has a destination on it that you desire. These maps are mostly used by pirates to find treasure but are sometimes used on other occasions, such as if it were your birthday and a parent wrote a treasure map so you could find the presents (but of course, this is only if you're a kid, not if you're an adult, or it'd be weird). Hope I have been of assistance! :)
