What colleges are good for becoming a veterinarian?

In the United States there are 28 accredited colleges of veterinary medicine spread throughout the country. In addition, in North America there are five colleges of veterinary medicine in Canada, at least one in Mexico and several in the Carribean. Around the world, most countries have at least one college of veterinary medicine, and there are regional and continental organizations of veterinary medicine that will help you find the nearest one - I'm not as familiar with these, but a quick internet search will bring up the organizations.

There are only 28 veternarian hospitals in the united states, making it harder to get into that a human medical school. It requires 4 years of college and an additional 4 years of veterinary medicine. Upon Graduation you have to pass a demanding national veterinary medical board exam - similiar to the bar exam in law. Then you need to pass a state board exam for the state you want to practice in.
