Borg Warner T5
There are 4 different options for the type of transmission that came in a 1988 K5 Blazer. They are the 4 speed SM465 manual, the 3 speed TH350 automatic, the 3 speed TH400 automatic and the 4 speed 700R4 automatic.
That would be a 4L80E Transmission.
The automatics had the 4L60E.
Probably the 700R4
The 1997 Blazer came with a 4L60E 4 speed automatic transmission. This transmission is electronically controlled, which is particularly good to know when dealing with the 1997 year model. The 1997 Blazers are known to develop faulty connections in the electrical ignition switch that can interrupt the power to the transmission. When this occurs, it makes it seem as though the transmission has gone bad, when in fact the ignition switch is the real culprit.
4l60e i got a 92 chevy blazer with the w engine it came with a 700 R
1993 MR2's could have one of three transmissions: The N/A cars (naturally aspirated - NOT turbo's) came with either an automatic transmission, or a 5 speed manual S54 transmission. The turbo car only came with E153 5 speed manual transmission. Both manual transmissions were upgraded in 1993 with better synchro systems. Limited slip differential became an option in 1993 on E153 models. Other than that they are interchangable with any other transmission in same series from 1990 to 1999 without any modifications.
The 2002 Chevrolet Blazer came equipped in the 4.3L V6 and 4L60E 4-speed automatic transmission. The most current (as of July 2014) and downwardly compatible automatic transmission fluid specification for this application is Dexron VI.
That would be a 4L60E
I believe that is an E4OD automatic transmission
If it came out of a 2WD vehicle, yes. If it came out a 4WD drive vehicle, you'll have problems. On the 2WD transmission, the driveshaft goes directly from the transmission to the rear axle. On the 4WD transmission, the output shaft from the transmission goes into a transfer case.
AnswerThe Transmission, in my 1992 S-10 Blazer Four-wheel drive, with the 4.3 V-6, came out of a 1996 S-10 Blazer w/FWD. I had no problems with the installation, other than having to jack the body up, to get the Engine and Transmission out. it will fit. but the computers have two different style processors so after you put it in you will find that it doesnt work
