it depends upon what you mean by 'adopted'. The Christian Church was already widespread in the first century AD as Paul, and others, had already founded churches right across the Mediterranean area. The New Testament in the Bible includes many letters sent to these churches. Therefore, besides Israel, where the Christian Church started in Jerusalem, the first churches were founded in many other countries across the Mediterranean area (which, for most part was the Roman Empire) but as to which country had the first church, this is not recorded.

If you mean 'adopted offically' as the official religion, then no one single country was 'first' but the whole of the Roman Empire became the first Christian Empire under Emperor Constantine in 313AD.

First country to adopt Christianity is Armenia in 301 CE

Second Country: Ethiopia in 325 CE

Georgia: 337 CE

In 301 AD, the Kingdom of Armenia became the first country to establish Christianity as its state religion. Soon after, the Roman Empire officially adopted Christianity in AD 380. During the Early Middle Ages, most of Europe underwent Christianization, a process essentially complete with the Christianization of Scandinavia in the High Middle Ages. The emergence of the notion of "Europe" or "Western World" is intimately connected with the idea of "Christendom", especially since Christianity in the Middle East was marginalized by the rise of Islam from the 8th century, a constellation that led to the Crusades, which although unsuccessful militarily were an important step in the emergence of a religious identity of Europe. At all times, traditions of folk religion existed largely independent from official denomination or dogmatic theology.

Armenia was the first to adopt Christianity as the state religion. King Tiridates III made Christianity the state religion in 301 CE, even before Christianity was officially tolerated by the Roman Empire.

Well I don't know what country would be considered a fully Christian country, but Christianity started in Israel. Only some of the people there converted to Christianity. Christianity is open to both Jewish people and Gentiles.
