I think the alternatives are better especially if you buy a top grade. The down is too unstable so it is difficult to get the right level especially if you live in different season area and no Allergies. We just brought home a down and some nights
it felt OK and then as if fluffed up is was way too hot for Ohio with a 550 fill. Just could not get it regulated but the alternative stay more stable( warm in the winter and cool in the summer.)
