Chicago is because Chicago heat comes from the southern states in the summer and since its north of Louisiana the humidity from their swamp moves upward for miles including to Chicago and onward until it gets too weak to move on like a hurricane and thunder storms in the Chicago area could cause humid temperatures too. New York gets there humidity from the Atlantic Ocean and they get theirs from their thunderstorms which leaves humidity in the air as it moves. so that combined with the climates from the south is what makes Chicago so humid in the summer.
