runny nose and fever are characteristic of either viral or bacterial infection. Since you mention rash, my best guess would be a bacterial infection. Some bacteria can infect the upper layer of the skin and then get absorbed in the blood stream. If the rash itches, it is most likely a bacterial infection. DONT SCRATCH. Take ibuprofen (motrin or advil) for the fever, take cold medicine for the runny nose, purchase hydrocortisone with antibiotic ointment and CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR.
