Both Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony died before the woman's
suffrage movement became law. Mrs. Stanton in l902; I believe Susan B in l906.

The 13th Amendment ends slavery. A few years back a New York couple was caught keeping a few Indonesian women as slaves. They went to prison. Sometimes women are captured and forced into slavery as prostitution. That is a form of slavery. That is illegal. The 14th Amendment guarantees everyone except prisoners the same rights as are granted under the federal constitution. Before that amendment was passed, states could establish a religion. States did not have to try people by juries. States could run roughshod over people's rights. It took a long time before everyone gained the same rights.The 15th Amendment gives everyone the right to vote. This was the basis of the voting rights act.
The state of Wyoming granted women voting rights in 1890. Several other states, such as Oregon and Colorado, had granted voting rights to women before the 19th Amendment.
In 1950-1960 there were no civil war activists. The war happened a 100 years before.
