There are several good oils on the market, I use valvoline,,,, Do not let people talk you into using 20/50 in A stock motor, They say to use it if you work your engine hard, It IS thicker just like they say, BUT, it also is just like everything else, It takes the path of least resistance, If your engine oil goes from the PUMP to the CRANK then to the CAM, then with 20/50 your cam is not getting enough oil, Because the extra thick oil is popping open the pop-off at the pump, then what is actually going to the crank is escaping through the bearings and not flowing through the LITTLE galleys to the CAM.

Motor oil is used as a lubricant and replaces sliding friction to create which type of friction?

fluid frictionMotor oil replaces sliding friction with fluid friction.Motor oil is used as a lubricant and replaces the sliding friction to create a type of friction known as fluid friction.

How does oil keep the engine of a car from getting too hot?

Friction produces heat. Oil lubricates the engine and reduces friction thus reducing heat.

How is synthetic oil produced?

Synthetic motor oil is generally considered to be superior to natural motor oil. Production of this oil requires man made chemical compounds that are mixed with specific additives that help reduce friction and improve viscosity.

Why does a motor lock?

because lack of water or oil makes friction and heat and heat bonds metals

What type of oil has the greatest density?

A motor oil with a high viscosity (resistance to flow) like SAE 50, will be your greatest density motor oil. Low viscosity like SAE 20 will have the least density.

What surface has the least amount of friction?

The surfaces used as the measure of lowest friction are generally wet ice on wet ice. Some materials, such as superfluid Helium III have no measurable friction.

What does a bit of oil reduce in science?

Oil is used to reduce friction.

What is meant by engine wear?

Any mechanical movement produces friction. Friction, even with oil to assist reducing it wears an engine so tight fitting pistions for example become slighty losser and this can cause reduced power.

Which nonrenewable resource produces the least pollution?

Natural gas. Of the three non-renewable fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas), natural gas (methane) produces the least carbon dioxide and other pollution.

What makes motor oil energy conserving?

energy conserving oil is just oil that is more slippery so that there is less friction caused by moving engine parts which means the engine does not have to work as hard thus conserving energy

Is there an African country that produces oil?

Equatorial Guinea produces oil!
