For the ability to play the latest games go with Windows, but Windows 7 Home Premium or Windows 7 Professional is better because Windows Vista is facing several problems, & it would be best to avoid any headaches, but if gaming is not your main thing of your enjoyment go with a Mac, due to their long life, ease of use, less problems, & looks. Now with a Mac you have the ability to boot into Windows with Boot Camp, so you would have the use of Windows.
