Acid + Base = Salt +Water

Also other general acid reactions.

acis + alkali = Salt + water

Acid + metal = salt + hydrogen

Acid + carbonate = salt + water +carbon dioxide.

Here are some examples.

Acid/Base

2HCl + ZnO = ZnCl2 + H2O

Acis/Alkali

H2SO4 + 2KOH = K2SO4 + 2H2O

Acid/metal

2HCl + Zn = ZnCl2 + H2

Acid/carbonate

H2SO4 + CaCO3 = CaSO4 + H2O + CO2

What happens if you mix chlorine bleach and acid?

Chlorine bleach is a base so a base and an acid will give you a salt (or ionic compound) and water. In order to come up with the equation for the reaction, you would need the formula of chlorine bleach and of the acid you are reacting it with.
