Was the French and Indian War, The British defeated the French, so Britain gained all of the French-held territory east of the Mississippi Riveras well as all of the French territories in Canada including Ontario and Quebec. The British essentially gained all of the French territory in North America and the Caribbean.

In 1754, Britain claimed territories in North America, including parts of present-day Canada and the eastern United States. In 1763, after the Seven Years' War, Britain acquired French territories in North America, the Caribbean, Africa, and India, significantly expanding their global empire.

The acquired a portion of Canada in 1963 (then known as New France) by the Treaty of Paris after the Seven Years' War. France also ceded Dominica, Grenada, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines,Tobago, and the eastern half of French Louisiana to Britain. Also as part of the Treaty of Paris, Spain ceded Florida to Britain. No other land was acquired between 1754 and 1763.
