If the toxins are delivered by ingesting the animal or by touch: the creature is poisonous. There are snakes that are venomous (they bite you to get the toxin in your system) there are snakes that constrict or simply only go for smaller prey. There are snakes that are poisonous, as in if you were to eat one you would get very sick. For example the Rhabdophis.
