The St. Lawrence River is the water border between Canada and the United States on the East Coast. The St. Lawrence river is 1,197 kilometres (744 miles) from the mouth to Lake Ontario. Including the border of the Great Lakes, the entire length of the river through Lake Ontario, Lake Erie, and Lake Superior stretches about 3,000 kilometres (1900 miles).
