Evey engineering student must make sure to get aware of the currently evolving technologies (which wont be taught in the course). Learn about basic web development, GUI based application development. These will assist you when you are doing projects as part of the course.
Follow up with technology news, read about developments in open source communities, and always be updated on the latest computer hardware and software.
A typical BS in computer science or software engineering takes 4 years.
A prototype is an early sample or model built to test a concept or process or to act as a thing to be replicated or learned from.
Matrix and determinants are actually very useful in engineering. I am going to give you a good personal example. I am a chemical engineering student, and when I took my final this past semester for my chemical processes class one of the problems had certain substances going into a reactor and came out of the reactor as different chemicals (they reacted). As part of the procedure used to determine the mass of the outcoming materials you do a mass balance (actually I did an atomic balance because atoms can not be created nor destroyed), in my mass balance I had three equations and two unknowns. At the time I was taking an engineering math course where I learned about matrices and determinants, therefore with what I learned I placed my equations as a "system of matrices" one on top of the others and reduced to "row echelon form" and was able to find all masses individual for each of the compounds. I hope this helped, and if you have any questions dont hesitate to consult with me....Chem Boy.
Computer software tells the hardware what to do. Without any software, the hardware would be worthless. Think of the software as a subject in school, and the hardware as you or your brain. Without any learning, you can't do anything. One you have learned some math, then you are able to solve math problems. This learning is usually accomplished through downloads or CD's that are loaded into the computer.
No, it is not common for engineers to be unable to write essays and papers. Many engineers work on research, auditing, managing, quality control. equipment design, ,,, etc. All those categories of engineers sure learned and knew how to write reports and essays.

Courses in statistics can be taught within many departments. I learned statistics in 4 different departments: Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics and Environmental Engineering. Business and finance schools also offer courses in statistics.

The courses earn you nothing. In fact, you have to pay in order to participate in the course. But if you do that, and complete the course successfully, and remember some of what you learned there after the course is over, then you yourself are positioned for good earnings after any engineering courses, particularly those in Computer, Chemical, Petroleum, Civil, and Telecommunications Engineering.
Throughout history as people learned more science and engineering they have used more and more energy. This is because of the many electronics and new technology used today.
In high school, students are taught how to apply the things they have learned in early education experiences. There are many classes that are offered in high school to students, but the main things that are taught are how to apply what students have learned in the past. This gets students ready for college and ready to face the world!
The taught curriculum refers to what educators set out to teach students based on standards and guidelines, while the learned curriculum is what students actually acquire and understand from the instruction. The taught curriculum involves lesson plans, objectives, and content delivered in the classroom, while the learned curriculum reflects the knowledge and skills students gain through their experiences and interactions with the material.
The past tense for "some students forget what they learn" would be "some students forgot what they learned."
