The computer itself has fans in, not the components.
The fans circulate air through the computer cooling the parts so they don't overheat. In older computers, the power supply was the main source of heat and only the power supply would require a cooling fan. Later computers had an additional fan on the box frame for heat generated by components. As computers became faster and used more power, some components generated so much heat that they needed additional fans. The CPU chip(s), GPU graphic processing units and some other components have fans attached to them to keep them cool enough to operate without being damaged by the heat.
