1. Install some king of Adware software (protection against spyware & adware)

3. Perform a Disk Cleanup (gets rid of unused files)
4. Also defragment you Hard Drive (compacts and organizes files together to make files work better and faster.

5a. I personally use Firefox 3.0 and it does it for me when i close the internet browser
