Counterclockwise. Skweekah
AnswerLeft, counter-clockwise. Lefty loosey, righty tighty. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------It depends on which way the crank rotates. If it rotates clockwise the nut will be threaded on counterclockwise to prevent it from loosening. If the crank rotates counterclockwise then the nut will be threaded on clockwise.

Clockwise
Clockwise if viewed from belt end.
which direction does a crank shaft pully bolt screw out on a 2002 honda accord lx 2.3l eng. clockwise or counterclockwise?
Remove right front wheel (passenger side) Remove plastic shield behind (3 bolts) Loosen alternator and remove belt (loosen lower through bolt, loosen upper through bolt, turn tightening bolt on firewall side counter-clockwise to loosen belt) Loosen power steering pump and remove belt. Remove crankshaft pulley bolt in center (probably need a breaker bar, prevent crank from spinning by putting a screwdriver in flywheel teeth at transmission end) Use pulley removal tool to pull pulley off straight (http://www.justoffbase.co.uk/Crankshaft-Pulley-Removal-Tool-Set-13pc-Sealey-PS997) installation reverse. (note key-way in pulley and key on crank)
It comes off like a normal bolt, counter clockwise. You will need to rent a special tool to hold the crank pulley still while you loosen the bolt. It is on very tight.
Follow the timing belt clockwise it is the first or second pulley after the crank pulley under the timing cover
Loosen the 18mm bolt about 4 or 5 mm and give the bolt a good wack and the pulley should pop. Then remove the bolt and pulley.
Remove anything that may obstruct pulley (belt, wheel, etc.). Your best bet is to use an impact gun to remove bolt in center of pulley (turn counter-clockwise and use safety goggles). After loosening bolt you need to use a harmonic puller to get pulley off crankshaft (do not use impact gun on puller). Tip: Unthread bolt about 1/4 inch from crank pulley then use puller, loosen puller and remove crank bolt a few more turns off crankshaft, then use puller again to slide crank pulley off crank again, keep repeating until it is off.
1/2" drive impact gun pneumatic or electric, counterclockwise motion.
