The farthest east time zone is the luck of places adjacent to the International Date Line, places such as New Zealand, Samoa, etc. In fact, the Chatham Islands, part of New Zealand, keep their time as 45 min in advance of the rest of the countrybecause of their longitude and the need to keep time synchrony with the mainland. So, the Chatham Islands are 12h 45min ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (aka International Time, UT). By Fiat, Kiribati has decided that their Line Islands are 14 hours ahead of UT.
