Only the virgin Mary (Mariam), mother of Jesus (peace upon him), is mentioned by name in Quran in many places.

There is a chapter (chapter 19) in Quran titled Mariam (Mary).

(some commented that Virgin Mariam is called Bibi Mariam. Not sure of the authenticity of this information)

While Mary is the only woman mentioned by name in Quran, other women mentioned (not explicitly by name) in Quran are:

  • Eve: (chapter 2, verses 34-36), (chapter 7, verses 19-25, 189), and (chapter 20, verses 116-123)

  • Sarah: (chapter 11, verses 71-73),

  • wives of Lot and Noah: (chapter 66, verse 10),

  • Mother and sister of Moses (chapter 28, verses 7-13),

  • Wife of Moses (chapter 28, verses 23-27),

  • Woman of Aziz (chapter 12, verses 23-31 and 51),

  • Asiya the wife of a Pharaoh ( chapter 66, verse11),

  • Queen Sheeba (chapter 27, verses 23-24, 29, 32-35, 42-44),

  • Wife of Imran (chapter 3, verses 33-36), and

  • Khoulah bint Thalabah (chapter 58, verse1).

Hagar is not mentioned in the Quran at all. She is mentioned 21 times in the Torah, by name although like the Jewish Matriarch Sarah, Hagar is the Muslim Matriarch.

Also mother of prophet Mohamed (peace upon him) not mentioned at all in Quran.

None of wives of prophet Mohamed (peace upon him) is mentioned by name in Quran.
