I don't know when they were first invented, but, according to Wikipedia, they were first introduced to the US in 1962. Pretty surprising, huh?
In the Vietnam War: Shepards served in US Army Scout Dog Platoons. Labrador Retrievers served in Combat Tracker Teams.
It didn't. It bought it from Russia in 1867.

The US seems to think it's the German shepherd because they're more popular here than the beagle, but it's purely opinion. (I think it's the GSD.)

Of course the German Shepherd. They weigh up to 40Kg, compared to boxers weighing up to 32Kg; German Shepherds have a longer jaw with a bite force of 238psi, whereas the Boxers is 200psi; German Shepherds are more aggressive and would 9 times out of ten tear a boxer to pieces

I believe it's a White German Shepherd. I saw the commercial yesterday during the US Open Tennis match. No guarantees. I was surprised bc I also own a white shepherd. :)
The full adult size of your GSD will depend in large part on the genetic background of its parents. Adult males should range between 24-26" at the shoulder blade, females from 22-24". Males within the standard may weigh anywhere from 65-90 lbs. depending on their bloodlines. Females may weigh anywhere from 50-75 lbs. Although your pup will reach close to adult height by 10-18 months, he will continue to fill out until up to 3 years old.
The GSD is a specific breed and unique, there are too many dogs that originate in the USA to list.
