Dogs are farsighted and usually cannot differentiate many colors. They have a harder time seeing small and non-moving objects like humans do. One thing dogs do have that humans do not is a wider field of vision and an ability to see in the dark. Humans usually can see better than dogs.

∙ 13y agoCat's see better, but dogs hearing is so good that their reflexes are better than a cats. So either way the dog will see something before the cat does.
