Aaron Burr decided to conspire with the British and almost succeeded. The plot he talked about with the British minister in Washington DC, concerned taking the western states and the Louisiana Purchase out of the US. He appealed to Great Britain for $500 thousand to form an army he planned to use against Spanish colonies. Burr was betrayed and placed on trial for treason. By pure luck he was found not guilty.
aaron burr was thomas jeffersons vice president and was also dissapointed about being the vice president
Aaron Burr was VICE President, not President.
John Tyler was the first vice president to become President without being elected as President. He took over for William Henry Harrison, who was the first President to die in office in 1840.
Burr was number 3.
The United States has never had a President named Burr.
The 3rd vice president of the United States was Aaron Burr. :D
Aaron Burr was not a numbered president. He served as the third vice president of the United States under President Thomas Jefferson from 1801 to 1805.
Aaron Burr never became President. However, he served as Vice-President from 1801-1805, during Thomas Jefferson's first term as President.
Aaron Burr, who had been vice-president during Jefferson's first term, killed Alexander Hamilton in a duel and was indicted for murder. Burr was not exactly a fugitive, I think. The charges were eventually dropped, but Burr got into other trouble being charged with treason but was again acquitted.
