Who fought in the Civil War Battle of Shiloh?
The US Civil War battle of Shiloh was fought by Union and
Confederate armies. The battle was fought in April of 1862. Days:
6th and 7th. At Hardin County Tennessee. Southern forces were led
by Albert S. Johnston. Union forces were led by US Grant and later
by General Buell. After Union reinforcements arrived, the Rebel
army was forced to retreat.
The battle was named after the church named Shiloh, nearby to
where the Confederates first struck.
