Indian: It is named after the Indian subcontinent. The word "India" comes from the Sanskrit sindhu meaning river, specifically the Indus and the region around the Indus.
Arctic: It is named after the Arctic region. The word "Arctic" comes from the Greek arktos and means 'bear, Ursa Major, North Star."
