Soon after the comet a fleet of fierce foreign sailors led by Tostig (Kind Harolds exiled brother) came ashore on England. Hardly an invasion, he hoped his newly crowned brother could resolve his past behavior and welcome him home as an earl. Sorry, but no. Months later Norway (convinced by Tostig) invaded followed within days by Normandy and a group of many foreign fighters. Neither of the invaders knew of the others plans. Poor English.

Poland was an ally before hand and it would of had been wrong if they just stood there. Plus France was invaded, and Britan was bombed, they were just waiting.

Stalin was involved in the Battle of Britain? I think he just stood back and watched...

Britain.
In Britain during WW2 ARP stood for Air Raid Precautions.
At the fall of France in 1940 it was a good bet that Britain was next on the list to be invaded: Britain stood alone against the Nazi threat. It throws light on why the British fired on the French fleet at Oran & elsewhere. Churchill speeches make this plain: How true: If the British Empire & its Commonwealth should last for a thousand years men will still say this was their finest hour.....
When Germany and Soviet Russia decided to invade Poland in 1939, the world stood on edge and waited to see if the Germans would really keep their promise of invasion. When they did, Britain and France declared war on Nazi Germany, and the Second World War officially began.
