There are traces of experiments on public transport as far back as 1662 in Paris, but there first real "bus route" ought to be scheduled from Market Street in Manchester, to Pendleton in Salford (UK). It is said to be started by John Greenwond in 1824.
In 1826, Stanilas Baudry is said to start a bus route in Nantes, France. Baudry supposedly was the owner of a public bath, and arranged a short transport route from the city centre to his baths.
In 1829, George Shillibeer arranged for a bus route in London.
