Britain, unlike Russia, America and China (as well as others like Belarus and Ukraine), is not known to be good at gymnastics, unlike our performances in Rowing and Cycling, and putting together a team.

For Gymnastics in general, you have to split it into 3 categories (not including Men and Women Trampoline) : Women's gymnastics (which includes apparatus like the balance beam and uneven bars), Men's gymnastics (which include strenght based elements in the performance like the parallel bars, pommel horse, table and in my opinion the toughest, the rings) and Rhythmic gymnastics (women only, and using objects like the hoop, ball, clubs and ribbon).

In my opinion, Britain's best female gymnast is Beth Tweddle. She is 27, and her specialities being Uneven bars where she loves to include fast twisting to be travels between the bars and floor exercise. She has two World Championship titles in uneven bars (her speciality) and a World Championship title in floor exercise.

In total, she has won 1 gold and two silvers in the Commonwealth games, 6 golds, 4 silver and 1 bronze in the European Championships, 1 gold and 1 silver in the World Cup Final, 3 golds and 2 bronzes in the World championships and a bronze in the 2012 London Olympics. In total she has won: 10 golds, 5 silvers and 4 bronzes.

In my opinion, Britain's best male gymnast is Louis Smith. This is because of two reasons.One , his total medal count are 2 golds, 6 silvers and 5 bronzes. Two, he was tied with Hungary's Krisztain Berki's score, but was awarded with silver due to Berki's higher execution score. His speciality is Pommel Horse.

In my opinion, Britain's best rhythmic gymnast is Lynne Hutchinson. She is 17, the second youngest member of the GB rhythmic team with the youngest member being Annie Bartlett. She is a Commonwealth bronze medalist and has competed as a former Junior British gymnast. She is England's top ranked rhythmic gymnast and has competed in 12 different countries.
