Gen. Robert E. Lee was the commander of the Confederate Army in the East. He was a brilliant strategist and beloved my his soldiers. As to friends he probably had many, but for a commander true friends would be few.
Robert E. Lee was actually against slavery, but he was born in Virginia, so when they joined the Civil War on the Southern side, Lee fought for his home state. Lee probably saw Lincoln more as a boss then a friend, since he used to fight for the North. But he had a pet hen, so you know, that's cool.
Yes, most likely he did. He was an Union army officer before West Virginia left the union. He felt more loyalty to WV than he did the Union, but that did not lessen his admiration for Lincoln. After his plantation was taken for back taxes and used to bury Union dead in his front yard ( it is now Arlington ) he may have lost some feeling towards the union and the president. By the time he surrendered to Grant I do not think there was any love lost.
i basically think that they were not friends
He currently has no friends on Facebook
