'King' Arthur was not Scottish. Most believe that Arthur ruled over England, Wales, Scotland and possibly part of Europe. This is not so. The Scots and Welsh did not want to be in Arthurs hands, so he let them be. Actually, the reference is to Arthur or Arturius Mc Aiadan, son of Aidan McGabran, and is found in the Chronicles of Dalriada which was a kingdom of approximatly the seventh century in what are now parts of modern Scotland and Wales. Both Arthur and Aidan were in their turn Pendragon (High King) of the Isles, and a reading of the Chronicles comparing Arthur to the mythical Arthur leaves little doubt that Arthur of Dalriada is probably the historic Arthur.
