Who is the lds apostle Russel ballard?

Elder M. Russell Ballard is a member of the Quorum of Twelve Apostles of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church). He was born on October 8, 1928 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He served as a missionary in England from 1948-1950 and married his wife Barbara in 1951. Together they have seven children. Professionally, he owned and operated a family car dealership. He also served in the U.S. Army Reserve in the early 1950's. He was ordained as an Apostle on October 10, 1985.

Elder Ballard is the Apostle often associated with the Public Relations arm of the Church. He is often the one called on for interviews and meetings with newsmedia, public figures, and government officials. (You can see some examples of his Public Relations work at the "Related Links" below.)
