Who owns the copyright to 'Winnie the Pooh'?
The Walt Disney Company. Winnie the Pooh was created by author Alan Milne, but he sold most of the rights to Stephen Slesinger, a producer. After Slesinger's death his wife, Shirley Slesinger, inherited the copyright. She sold the Slesinger rights to the Disney Company in 1961. Daphne Milne, Alan Milne's wife, who inherited additional rights to Winnie after Alan's death, followed suit, licensing her rights to Disney later that same year. ...
