The failed invasion of Cuba by American troops was named Bay of Pigs, and this was a failed mission because John F. Kennedy did not turn it into a full blown battle, and Kennedy did not back up the troops that were in Cuba with additional troops; in the end these troops in Cuba either died or were tortured to death.
In 2008 Fidel Castro resigned as the President of Cuba. This marked the formal end of his 49 year reign of power in the country.

Platt Amendment
Platt Amendment
The country that the Plat Amendment was signed for was Cuba. It was an amendment that was signed in 1901 and called for the withdrawal of all remaining US troops in Cuba.
Not at all; Mexico has the third largest military in North America (by number of troops) with 517,770, following the United States of America with 3,385,400 troops and Cuba, with 1,231,500. It has also the third largest army in Latin America, following Brazil (2,405,122 troops) and again, Cuba.
It stipulated seven conditions for the withdrawal of United States troops remaining in Cuba at the end of the Spanish-American War, and an eighth condition that Cuba sign a treaty accepting these seven conditions.
