Prior to the Declaration of Independence by the statesmen of the 13 British colonies, there was "bloodshed" that can be considered as the first of its kind when the American Revolution is taken in a broad view. This would be the incident in Boston in 1770. The name of the incident was the "Boston Massacre". Several "colonial "rioters" were shot to death by British soldiers. This and other events led up to the Revolution.
