This was part of the Triangle Trade Route used by slavers. They picked up their slaves in West Africa using iron and trade goods to barter with the slave catchers and slave traders. They delivered the slaves across the Middle Passage where they bartered their cargo to Plantation owners and slave traders for a fresh cargo of sugar, molasses and rum. They then turned their ship toward Europe where they again bartered this commodity for trade goods destined for West Africa. At each point in the Triangle Trade Route they turned an immense profit since they arrived with a product that each destination had a high demand for. A ship captain could easily retire after two circuits of the Route and a crewman could buy a pub or a small farm with his share of the profits. Those that completed three or more successful circuits became the owners of large European Estates and the founders of some of the great European Family Dynasties.
Some slave owners traded slaves for goods, including sugar, as a form of payment or exchange. Slaves were often treated as commodities and could be sold or traded for various goods depending on the specific circumstances and agreements made by the owner.
IT IS A CONFLICT AND COMPROMISE BECAUSE THEY SOLD SLAVES FOR SUGR AND SOME PEOPLE DIDNT AGREE WITH THIS.
the triangle trade is when ships left from britai traded goods with africans for slaves then to them to America and the west indies and then sold the slaves for cotton and sugar
when and where were the first slaves sold in america
slaves were sold because the whites needed servant's to do there work
The first slaves were sold in 1665.
deep south is a place where they sold slaves to make money
selling souls for sugar was a trade in the 18 century where people would trade slaves for sugar in the carribean. After they traded slaves the new owners would make the slaves work in sugar plantations or work on domestic jobs in the house.
The British came to Africa, and traded slaves for sugar. (Sugar was rare in Africa, the kings traded men and women for it.) Then the British took the slaves away on ships, sailed them to America, and sold them. The South took more interest than the North (South had more farms, North more factories.) in the slaves. "Ooh, someone else can do the work for me!" was the basic idea. And so whites owned slaves.

SLAVES AND SUGAR PLANTATIONS Slaves were needed to harvest the crops in the sugar plantations. They were needed for affordable labor, but only because they were also producers of children, who became new slaves. So in addition to revenue from cotton and sugar, the slaveowners also received revenue from the sale of slaves, especially after the importation of new slaves was prohibited.
