Baby time and youth

Benito Mussolini was born at Dovia di Predappio, which is a small area of Italy on the sorta poor/moderate side on July 29, 1883. His family was an extremely poor family who lived in teeny tiny apartment. His father was a blacksmith, and his mother taught elementary school. Benito, although intelligent, was violent and had a large ego just like Hitler. He was a poor student at school and learned very little because he didn't want to. As a student Mussolini stabbed another kid in school, and as a result he was expelled. He went to Switzerland in 1902 to avoid military service.

His not so nice state

Once in power, Mussolini took steps to remain there. He set general elections, but they were fixed to always provide him with an absolute majority in Parliament. The assassination of the Socialist leader Giacomo Matteotti, a noted opponent, by Fascist followers reversed his fortunes and nearly brought him down. Mussolini, however, recovered. He suspended civil liberties, destroyed all opposition, and imposed open Dictatorship (absolute rule). In 1929 his Concordat with the Vatican settled the historic differences between the Italian state and the Roman Catholic Church. Pope Pius XI (1857-1939) said that Mussolini had been sent "by Divine Providence."

As the 1930s began, Mussolini was seated safely in power and enjoyed wide support. The strongest groups who had put Mussolini into power now profited from it. However, the living standard of the working majority fell; the average Italian worker's income amounted to one-half of that of a worker in France, one-third of that of a worker in England, and one-fourth of that of a worker in America. As national leader, Mussolini offered no solutions for Italy's problems. He surrounded himself with ambitious and greedy people and let them bleed Italy dry while his secret agents gathered information on opponents.

Musso's series of wars

In 1930 economic depression (a decline in the production of goods because of a decline in demand, accompanied by rising unemployment) arrived in Italy. Mussolini reacted at first with a public works program but soon shifted to foreign adventure. The 1935 Ethiopian War was planned to direct attention away from internal problems. The "Italian Empire," Mussolini's creation, was announced in 1936. The 1936 Spanish intervention, in which Mussolini aided Francisco Franco (1892-1975) in Spain's civil war, followed but had no benefit for Italy. Mussolini then joined forces with German dictator Adolf Hitler (1889-1945) and in 1938 began to attack Jewish people within the country just as Germany was doing. As the 1930s ended, Mussolini was losing all his support within Italy.

The outbreak of World War II (1939-45) left Mussolini an unimportant figure in world politics, and he worried that Hitler would redraw the map of Europe without him. He decided "to make war at any cost." The cost was clear: modern industry, modern armies, and popular support. Mussolini lacked all of these. Nonetheless, in 1940 he pushed Italy into war against the will of the people, ignoring the only meaningful lesson of World War I: the United States alone had decided that conflict, and therefore America, not Germany, was the most important power.

When and how the old dude died

In 1940-41 Mussolini's armies, which needed stuff like ammo and rations extremely badly suffered defeats from Europe across the Mediterranean to Africa. Italy lost its war in 1942 not only because losses but also Mussolini; Mussolini's power collapsed six months later. Restored as Hitler's puppet in northern Italy in 1943, he drove Italy deeper into invasion, occupation, and civil war during 1944 and 1945. The end approached, but Mussolini struggled to fend off with his troops. He was finally executed by a firing squad on April 28, 1945, at Dongo in Como which is in Italy(I think).DO NOT PLAGURISE...PUNISHABLE BY CHUCK NORRIS!!! AND DONT COPY THIS EITHER!

He was the leader of the "Black Shirts" in Italy during the WW2, a bombastic sort he became an ally of Hitler, he was later found guilty of war crimes, so both he and his mistress were hanged up side down in the town square.

He was a very animated speaker. He had a big ego and wanted to impress others such as Adolf Hitler. Then at other times he seemed to be fearful and ready to follow Hitler. He spoke 3 languages and came out of the Munich Conference as the negotiator and the peace maker. Then at another time, he ordered his army commanders to attack Somalia, Greece and Albania.

At the first meeting with Hitler, Mussolini dressed in full military gear and showed off his armed forces, while Hitler wore a drab civilian overcoat. This meeting seemed to change the way Hitler dressed and presented himself. Mussolini's troops were also the first to use the stiff-armed salute and the goose-stepping march.
Benito Museline was from WWII. He was the Italian fascist dictator. He was one of the most strickest men alive. Everything had to be perfect and eficent even the trains. If the trains were even off by even a minute he would take that conductor who was late then gather all the others and in person execute the conductor in front of everyone just to make his point.
Benito Mussolini was the general for Italy, during world war II and a part of the Axis Powers.

Benito Mussolini was later captured, executed, and hung upside down in the middle of the town square by guerrillas as he was trying to flee the country.
Benito Mussolini was a dictator in Italy

Answer Almost right. Benito Mussolini was the prime minister from 1922 until 1943. However he actually had more power than a prime minister as he took control of all the governmental bodies and established a cabinet that was selected by him. He was voted out of office in July 1943 after the King asked him to resign. The Germans retrieved him and put him as head of a puppet government of the areas occupied by the Germans, but he had no real authority. He was captured by the partisans and executed in 1945.

Benito Mussolini (1883-1945) was the son of a socialist blacksmith. He attempted following in his mother's footsteps as a schoolteacher but grew restless and went to Switzerland for further studies, devoting some part to writing articles for socialist newspapers. However, he was expelled from the country and returned to Italy to become a journalist. He eventually became the editor of Avanti, the leading socialist daily. After being deprived of his position as editor for this paper a bit later, he founded a new paper, Il Popolo d'Italia and dedicated its columns to arousing enthusiasm for war. Around October 1914, Mussolini organized groups, called fasci, to help drum up support for the war. Members of the fasci were young, fanatical nationalists. After the war, these groups became the foundation for Mussolini's fascist movement. The fascists gained the respect of the middle class and landowners, and intimidated many others, by forcefully repressing radical movements of industrial workers and peasants. They attacked socialists and took over some local governments. On October 28, 1922, an army of about 50,000 fascist militia marched into Rome and occupied the capital, all without shedding a drop of blood nor firing a shot. Mussolini was granted his power. The doctrines of Italian fascism had three components: 1. Statism: The state declared to incorporate every interest and every loyalty of its members. 2. nationalism: Nationhood was the highest form of society 3. Militarism: nations that did not expand would eventually die. Mussolini also advocated the end of class conflict and its replacement by national unity. He secured some working-class support with state-sponsored programs, including public-works projects, library building, paid vacations for workers, and social security. Those were the most important contributions Mussolini had to Italy.
