Nikita Khruschev, he said many un-flattering things about Stalin, and basically just denounced his legacy entirely.
Joseph Stalin was not the head of state during WW2, Mikhail Kalinin was. Stalin was at the forefront of soviet politics due to the fact that Kalinin kept a low profile and was submissive, and you could say, Stalins puppet. However, Stalin was NOT the head of state during WW2...
Some put the figure (including WWII) at over 45 million people. What time periods specifically? Stalin was in power from 1924 till his death in 1953. Through forced agricultural reforms, military purges, control and subjugation of non-Russians in the Soviet Union, extermination of all political and ideological rivals, gulags of Siberia and WW2 sacrifices, you could say that between 25-40 million people died under Stalin's rule. No exact number is available.
Stalin was in power as General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party and ruled as part of a three party committee with Grigori Zinoviev and Lev Kamenev in 1923 while Lenin was incapacitated by strokes and after Lenin died. Over the next several years he ousted Zinoviev and Kamenev and took sole power in 1929. He did not assume the title of Premier until 1941 and continued to wield the sole power in the Soviet Union until his death in 1953.
Vladimir Ilyich lenin (Ulyanov) was effectively removed from power in 1922 by the first of a series of strokes. Since he had failed to name a successor, the USSR was run by a "Committee of Three" including Grigory Zinovyev, Lev Kamenev and Joseph Stalin. Stalin held effective power at this time because he was already Party General Secretary. There is a little doubt as to what exactly happened from here on because many records were "corrected" to reflect the preferred political views of the time, but suffice to say that by the end of 1929, only Stalin was left of the "Committee of Three" and he had managed to get rid of the remainder of his potential competition from the party. Both Grigory Zinovyev and Lev Kamenev were executed in 1936. The rest is history and Stalin allegedly died of a stroke, possibly on the 5th of March 1953, thereby resigning his leadership of the USSR. Exact dates, even if they do exist, are not reliable.
Stalin did not really have a major role during the revolution, he was a Georgian revolutionary who had a lot to say from the safety of relative anonymity. He emerged after the revolution full of drive and ambition, and by deceit and subterfuge, cleared the way for his own leadership ambitions after Lenin's death. There is an interesting book called "Loyal Comrades, Ruthless Killers" that features a number of "doctored" photographs portraying Stalin as being involved in significant events when he was not present at them or, had nothing to do with them. He was the head of Russia's Communist party and ruler of the Soviet Union from 1924 until his death in 1953.

There were people who would choose a beach attack no matter the casualties in our side. They would say the numbers of deaths of the enemy was too high.
(Submitted by my son as one of his year 12 modern history assignments.) Joseph Stalin was born an infant. Coincidently, he was also born is Russia. Joseph Stalin did many things people considered to be wrong, some people even thought they might have been worse than wrong. One person though, thought he did something good. He killed many people. Some with knives, some with guns, some with guns that shot knives, one with a chainsaw and he passed gas on someone and they died of super cancer. It is thought that Joseph Stalin passing gas could induced horrible outbreaks of super cancer and meningitis. He wanted to kill people for many reasons, one theory is that he was being payed by French aliens from Mars, another theory is that he was a maniacal domino fanatic, but most people say his moustache drove him to breaking point. On the 5th of November, Joseph Stalin met a man named V. He wore silly masks and played with daggers. "What a douche", thought young Joseph. Joseph was so dissatisfied with V's terrible antics that he was compelled to ask V to put parts of Joseph's anatomy into certain orifices that V has. V felt disgraced by Joseph's request and so replied with, "You have a real attitude problem" to which Joseph came back with, "You have a real face problem. LOLOLOLOLOL.". There are many theories of how poor old Stalin died, or "Kermit" as he was sometimes referred to. Some say the cause of death was confirmed to be cerebral haemorrhage after the coroner examined his little puppet body, some say he was poisoned, but the most likely explanation is that Stalin ran away with Elvis and Tupac to the Galapagos Islands to live with the tortoises as they had always dreamed. A monument to Joseph Stalin was raised in Atlantis shortly before the city disappeared. Fortunately, the statue could swim and swam to safety. The statue currently resides somewhere in Seychelles and is believed to be the founder of its own religion.

Who was Stalin's successor ? Nikita Khrushchev if you look on Wikipedia it'll say that Malenkov did but that was another position, the communist party of the soviet union was the actual government of power so if you meant as successor for his position as dictator, then it was Khrushchev.
George Orwell refers to Stalin as a "disgusting murderer" in his diary, so I think it's safe to say he wasn't a supporter.Animal Farm is, if anything, a ringing condemnation of Stalin's brand of socialism. Again, if it was intended as pro-Stalin propagana, Orwell was singularly bad at it.
