Susan Brownell Anthony (February 15, 1820 - March 13, 1906) was a prominent, independent and well-educated American civil rights leader who played a pivotal role in the 19th century women's rights movement to secure women's suffrage in the United States. She traveled thousands of miles throughout the United States and Europe, and gave 75 to 100 speeches per year on suffrage and women's rights for some 45 years. She traveled by carriage, wagon, train, mule, bicycle, stagecoach, ship, ferry boat and even sleigh. Susan B. Anthony died in Rochester, New York, on March 13, 1906, and is buried at Mount Hope Cemetery.

Susan B. Anthony was a woman that believed women had rights just like men. She reinforced laws and allowed women to vote. She worked with many famous females and changed a female's rights and men's beliefs.

She got arrested for being a woman once. She was the first woman to get arrested for that. Her father was an abolitionist. She didn't like the idea of slavery either. She wanted everyone to be treated equally. Her religion was a quaker. She wanted a very easy life style. She got education because her father ran a school. She never got to learn algebra because she was a girl though. She wanted to. She also went to a boarding school in Philidelphia when her family moved. She was born in 1820. She became a teacher when she was 16 and then realized she did't have enough education to teach. She then became a woman's rights speaker. Her and Elizabeth Cady Stanton. They went all over speaking out against the wrong treatings of women. They wanted to be on the same level with men. She died when she was 86 in 1906. All throught her life she was independent and brave. She was kind and gentle too. She had 5 sisters and 2 brothers. Her mom was named Lucy Read Anthony and her dad was Daniel Anthony.
