I Think you"ve got your grammar wrong- War Hero is a noun clause. The only one I can think of may have been president Grant, whose administration was ridden with scandals such as the Tweed Ring. I cannot help but think you may have been thinking of Colonel Charles Lindbergh. Lindbergh, the great aviator, was not strictly speaking a (war Hero) the Spirit of St. Louis was not an Air Force craft-no Stars and bars logo on the wings. He was never president was was involved in a cyclone of scandals such as the Kidnap murder and Hauptman trial, the America first movement(Bund in plain clothes) and some other ones. Flak for the airman!
