I am not sure what this question is in reference to, but in my readings it is most likely tied to the ethical collapse of the western powers in relation to the Soviet Russians. Churchill and Roosevelt were both blinded by their hatred of Germans and Hitler to the extent that they actually made nice with Stalin, who was at least as brutal as any Nazi. So in awe of Stalin were these two that they freely gave massive aid and armaments to him, enabling him to advance against the German army and enslave half of Europe and Asia. Additionally, these two collapsed politically before Stalin at war's end, giving up vast territories to the Soviets that should have been liberated, not enslaved. The slavish, loathful obedience by the Americans and British to the Soviets even included treatment of POWs. The Soviets were slaughtering German POWs and civilians alike by the thousands near wars end. As such, relatively few German soldiers were willing to go into the Soviet POW system, as opposed to the American system (bad enough in its own right). When Stalin 'complained' that he wasn't getting enough POWs, the American General Eisenhower turned over a vast number of his own prisoners to 'Uncle Joe'. Of course, Stalin then went on to murder nearly a million of these helpless POWs. The reasons for this treacherous behavior by America and England towards the peoples of Europe are myriad and inexplicable. However, a partial answer may lie in the knowledge that is now well documented concerning a British foreign service that was virtually controlled by the Soviet Communists in the 1940's and 50's. Additionally the American foreign service contained a large number of Soviet agents and Soviet sympathizers. A few Americans such as Senators Nixon and MacArthy, tried to point out the worst abusers but they were in turn slandered and libeled by a liberal, Soviet sypathizing press. Both are noted in the history books today and virtual criminals whereas the treacherous Soviet agents they discovered are either ignored or lionized as 'heroes'.
