Well, there's China. First response is accurate. A another example is the government of the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea. This is commonly referred to as North Korea. Although China is run by a communist party, it is a huge nation and has a huge government. Speaking in terms of oligarchy, only elite members of the Party run the government ( to a large extent ) But based on its size, there would be opportunities for other party members to take part in the government. In the case of North Korea, the oligarchy seems to be smaller, almost a "family affair" as the Communist Party there has been under control of a communist "family" the current top leader is a son of the last communist leader.
Vladimir Lenin was the first communist leader for Russia. After the successful revolution against the Russian Provisional government in October, 1917, Lenin later discarded the term Bolshevik in favor of Communist. The party soon after changed the name of Russia to the Soviet Union.
