There were two nuclear bombs dropped on Japan in the summer of 1945.
On August 6th, the Enola Gay, piloted by Colonel Paul W. Tibbets, was flown to drop the first nuclear bomb on Hiroshima, Japan.
Then on August 9th, another B-29 named Bock's Car was flown by Major Charles W. Sweeny. Sweeny flew his small plane over the Japanese city of Nagasaki and released the second nuclear bomb.
