There was no president of the Soviet Union during ww2 there was a dictator named Joesph Stalin who was almost as bad a person as hitler he had several concentration camps like hitler but hes not considered as bad since he was on the allies side

∙ 12y agoHead of state in Russia was czar Nikolai II in WWI, until 1917. With the revolutions the power shifted between the Duma and later the Bolsheviks. Thus chairman Vladimir Lenin led the country to get out of the war through a separate peace agreement with Germany 3 March 1918.
During the whole of WWII Josef Stalin was the General Secretary of the Communist Party. The Premier of Soviet Union was Vyacheslav Molotov until 1941, then Stalin. The general secretary wasn't as high a position as the Premier, but Stalin made all powerful opponents disappear, thus consolidating his factual power, resulting in Dictatorship.
