Marine combat troops were in Vietnam from May 1965 to April 1971. The Marine HQ was the III Marine Expeditionary Force, later redesignated the III Marine Amphibious Force. This included the 1st Marine Division, 3rd Marine Division and the 1st Marine Air Wing.
