The earliest settlers on the Italian Peninsula arrived in prehistoric times. The second gorup is composed of Greeks who established colonies along southern Sicily and Italy. The final and thirsd group was made up of the Etruscans who inhabited northern Italy, they strongly influenced the development of the Roman civilization From the Etruscans , the Romans adopted the alphabet and the arch.
Note: Currently people from Rome are called Romans or Italians.

∙ 12y agoSome say that it was Iliad who travelled from Tunisia to Italy, however the Ethruscians were residers of Italy long before that. These have built many prehistoric shrines, and many believe that they came from the aegian coast.
