Yes. The USS Enterprise launched jet fighter bombers over Vietnam, becoming history's FIRST atomic powered warship to engage in combat.
The P in P-40, for a Warhawk fighter from WWII meant "Pursuit." The F in F-4 , for a Phantom fighter from the Vietnam War meant "Fighter." The B in B-52, for a Stratofortress from the Vietnam War meant "Bomber." The RF in RF-101, for a Voodoo from the Vietnam War meant "Reconnaissance Fighter."

When NVN P4 Torpedo Boats attacked the destroyer USS Maddox in the Tonkin Gulf. This was a conventional military attack. This paved the way for US conventional forces to be deployed to RVN (Republic Vietnam). However, it must be noted, that if a jet fighter suddenly darts from "out of the blue", firing it's cannons as it passes it's target, and keeps going, until it's gone...this too can be considered a form of guerrilla warfare...albeit "aerial guerrilla warfare." This was a common tactic deployed by the North Viet Air Force over the skies of North Vietnam during the war. Therefore, even though conventional torpedo boats attacked a conventional US destroyer, on the open sea; by their very nature (torpedo boats) they did in fact conduct a surprise hit and run raid; which is guerrilla warfare.
All current missiles are electrically triggered in a sequence to 'spool up' as they release from the aircraft.
An insurgency is an act of rebellion against an authority. Terrorism is an act of violence designed to coerce a government or political authority. If a nation occupies my country and I use violence against that nations forces then in my eyes is an insurgency but in the eyes of the occupier I am a terrorist. I suppose calling me a terrorist frees the occupier from accountability.

Guerrilla in Spanish generally refers to a guerrilla fighter in unconventional warfare. The word in Spanish is: guerrillero.
The Vietnam War escalated from a Viet Cong guerrilla war to a war involving regular Army units of the North Vietnamese Army; including jet aircraft combat between US Air Force/US Navy jet fighter planes against North Vietnamese Air Force fighter aircraft.

No, the IRA is a guerrilla fighter group, and it is neutral. Therefore the IRA has no allies.

The same as english, although technically it just means a fighter (not a soldier, the word for that is "soldato").

"Escalation" means to increase; an appropiate term. The war did escalate; it went from a guerrilla war of US military advisers and small unit contacts...to B-52 stratofortress bombers and hi-tech jet fighter plane dog-fights (aerial combat) over the skies of North Vietnam (Operation Rolling Thunder).
