The Triple Entente ("entente" — French for "understanding") was the alliance formed in 1907 among the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, the French Third Republic and the Russian Empire after the signing of the Anglo-Russian Entente.
During World War I, the Triple Alliance consisted of Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Italy. The Triple Entente consisted of France, Britain, and Russia.
The triple entente originally consisted of Britain, France and Russia but later on in the war the USA joined as well.
