George Washington, James Madison, and Thomas Jefferson were the big supporters of the B of R.
The federalists were supporters of the Constitution and wanted to make it official- but the anti Feds wanted more protection of their individual rights so they wanted a Bill of Rights added- and so they compromised and they added a bill of rights to the constitution. These rights now protect all Americans and their basic librerties. :) ur welcome
They were added after the constitution was adopted to protect our rights
The Bill of Rights (ie the first ten ammendments to The Constitution)
Yes it was. The Constitution was written and then the Bill of Rights was added as sort of a compramise between the Federalists and Anti-Federalsits. Many said that the original Constitution did not protect the people's natural rights, so the Bill of Rights was added to it.
Bill of Rights
The delegates to the state ratifying convention said they would be more willing to agree to the Constitution if a list of fights was added to it. So supporters of the Constitution promised that after it was ratified, a bill of rights would be added.
The Bill of Rights is the first ten amendments which were all added to sway the opinions of more Antifederalists to sign the Constitution. The Constitution needed only ten amendments initially to have enough supporters to be ratified.
When the Constitution was proposed, there were no provisions in it for protecting the rights of the citizens. When supporters of the Constitution agreed to the addition of the Bill of Rights to the document, most opposition ended.

Alexander Hamilton promised a Bill of Rights would be added to the Constitution, which would be ten amendments promising basic rights to the people. James Madison went through hundreds of proposals and chose ten that related to the things England deprived Americans from that eventually led to the war, and added them to the constitution as the "Bill of Rights"
The set of rights added to the end of the constitution is called the Bill of Rights.
